When I start a painting I don't know what kind of painting I am going to create.
I do not know a lot about the final outcome as my paintings takes quite a long time to finalise. Most of them takes several months to do and sometimes even longer.
Beyond my awareness and without any clear thought I realise, time after time, that the paintings always has been in my subconscious.
When everything feels as it should for me, the entire painting comes together in the final phase of the process.
I often come to the conclusion that I have been working on a feeling, a feeling, which I most definitely can not define.
I have great respect for the subconscious. The subconscious is the root of strong feelings and diffuse associations, the creative process.
